Gossip about Singapore Museum

Published by xueme under Our first date

These days, I am researching the  history of the Singapore Museum. A lot of very interesting things were found. The most gossipy one is about Dr.R Hanitsch, the curator and Librarian of Raffles’ museum and Library during the end of 19th century to the early year of the 20th century.

It seems that Dr.R Hanitsch, a former demonstrator at the University College of Livepool, was very sensitive, especially when he was offended with his scholarly pusuit. One day, he sent a parcel of some very big size cockroaches to someone who offended his interest of collcting cockroach.

Nervertheless, this incident hadn’t  affect Hanitsch to be a very great scholar, curator and Librarian of Raffles’ Museum and Library, which was been titled Singapore Museum.

A welcome letter to my readers

Published by xueme under Uncategorized

Dear readers,

Welcome to my blog space!

This is a blog for speaking up a China voice.

After reading a lot of blog entries here and there, I found that there are few English blogs from China Chinese in Singapore. It seems that China Chinese here are so quiet and used to keep silent even when they are misunderstood by some Singaporeans. What a pity that there is no good space for China Chinese and Singaporean to well communicate and understand each other.

So I create this blog and try to tell you what a China Chinese is observing and thinking about Singapore and Singaporean. And I also want to share China angle and perspective with you on some interesting issues based on news.

My dear readers, let’s try to understand each other more via this space. This space looks like an illusion, but the feelings and opinions inside is true.

Let’s start our wonderful, but maybe uneasy journey!

P.S: I should admit that my English is no good. So you are really appreciated to spot my mistake in any blog entry. I need your response and help!
